Enterprise IT Portfolio Management Support

CPS provides organization leadership and IT management with enterprise-wide IT portfolio management technical decision support through Business Case (BC) analysis, Technical Assessment (TA) of a product or solution, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA). There are four primary activity areas that CPS performs to provide comprehensive IT Portfolio Management Support:

Business Analysis
  • Gain understanding of the organization's' business mission, objectives, needs, processes, and functions through ingest of existing architecture, policy, process, and activity.
Business Architecture
  • Understand and leverage top-level business architectures such as Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), VA Business Reference Model (VABRM), VHA Business Function Framework (VHA BFF), VBA BRM, and NCA BRM
  • Elaborate on top-level architecture to additional levels of detail needed for Business Case and Solution Design
  • Document and model Business Capabilities and Functions to relate business needs to top-level models and detail human/automation allocation of function
  • Document and model Business Concepts to identify information requirements

Architecture Services
  • Formalize the Business Case for requested IT services in Epics and Sub-epics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Risk Assessment, and Business Architecture Artifacts.
  • Define high level solution architecture including integration views, iteration plans, software capabilities, and information models
  • Conduct Technical Assessment of proposed IT solutions (COTS or GOTS) against organization alignment epics
  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives, a weighted technical assessment of IT solution options with respect to required capabilities to provide quantitative decision support to IT management

  • Detail System Integrations (what talks to what), protocols (JDBC, SOAP, XML, Batch-file etc.), and patterns (i.e. asynchronous messaging)

Quality Assurance

CPS offers a comprehensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control process to help organizations improve product quality and increase deployment velocity. This includes Testing, Software Quality Assurance, and Verification & Validation built on top of our Quality Framework (QF) that provides Requirements Management, Test Management, Test Automation, Test Process Improvement, Performance Testing, Configuration Management, and Quality Control.

Center of Excellence (CoE)

CPS operates a Quality Assurance CoE staffed with Functional and Subject Matter Experts that provide leadership and guidance directly to our project teams to perform quality and testing services. This support includes defining best practices, tailoring quality processes to team and organizational requirements, training, tool recommendation and configuration, and documentation templates. We follow an integrated CoE approach by having our CoE staffed with individuals that also support our various projects. This dramatically increases the value of our QA CoE to enable sustainable change and continued process improvement.

IBM Watson Health

CPS has partnered with IBM Watson Health (Merge Healthcare) to provide our federal customers with radiology, cardiology, hemo, and eye care solutions. Watson Health delivers value to their customers through its enterprise solution for digital medical content, images, waveforms, video, audio, document management and reports. It couples its advanced technology with a comprehensive set of customer success programs designed to achieve business results, including quicker care response, enhanced patient care, improved productivity and reduced costs.

IBM Watson Health (Merge Healthcare) products including Radiology, Cardiology, VNA, and iConnect are available to federal customers through the CPS GSA IT 70 Schedule.

Practical Sleep Solutions

CPS has partnered with Practical Sleep Solutions to provide our federal customers with a home-based sleep diagnosis than can now be done in the convenience of thier patient's own bed. The Practical Sleep solution to better sleep is more convenient and cost effective than a sleep study being perform at a hospital or local sleep clinic. The In-home Sleep Study offering provides 8 Channel monitoring (EKG, Snoring, Nasal Flow, Thorax Effort, Abdominal Effort, Finger Oximeter, Position, and Pulse) to enable our Board Certified physicians to provide thorough medical reports and treatment recommendations.

Practical Sleep Solutions Sleep Study and ResMed Sleep Machine (APAP Machine) are available to federal customers through the CPS GSA IT 70 Schedule.
